#WWWWednesday: 21 May 2025

Hello everyone, this is my first WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words, which means I’ll be answering these questions:
- What did you read last?
- What are you currently reading?
- What will you read next?

Since last week, I’ve finished 2 books. I am happy that I managed to read two books last week, it was an enjoyable (and eclectic) reading week. As part of this week's reading, I got to read four more books.
Hunted by Darcy Coates ★★
The characters stopped me from liking it more. As the story progressed, it lost some steam. This made it difficult to stay engaged until the end. Despite its promising start, the narrative felt underdeveloped, leaving me wanting more depth and resolution.
The Last Renegade by Jo Goodman ★★★
Westerns are usually not my cup of tea, but I want to venture outside my comfort zone this year. A slow burn developed between the lead couple. The final explanation wasn't completely satisfactory to me. I felt like the resolution lacked depth and left some unanswered questions. Despite this, the book and the character development kept me engaged until the end.
What's a Ghoul to Do? by Victoria Laurie ★
There could have been more mystery and fewer stereotypical characters in the story, which would have made it more enjoyable. Because of that, I don't read "chick-lit".
Written in Red by Anne Bishop ★★
The only thing that hindered my enjoyment was the Mary Sue character. I really enjoyed the way the world was built. The character felt unrealistic and lacked depth, which detracted from the overall experience. Despite this, the intricate world-building was captivating and immersive, making it easy to appreciate the author's creativity and attention to detail.
- Dragon and Chameleon 01 by Ryo Ishiyama
- Ouran High School Host Club, Vol. 1 by Bisco Hatori
- Always a Catch! 01: How I Punched My Way into Marrying a Prince by Mayo Momoyo, Itsuki Mito, Kaki Nagato (Art)
- Scythe by Neal Shusterman
- Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
What are you currently reading? I hope you’re enjoying whatever book you’ve picked up, friends!
